Sudāmā
Sudāmā
Sudāmā is named in the Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa, in the teaching that Bhagavān Śrī Kṛshṇa is not as pleased by abundant things as by bhakti. Bhagavān Śrī Kṛshṇa left the royal pūjā offered by Duryodhana and accepted the greens and pūjā of Vidura at his āśrama. Accepting the grains of rice of Sudāmā, Bhagavān Śrī Kṛshṇa gave him riches wholly rare for human beings.
Bhagavān Śrī Kṛshṇa looks only for bhakti given with love. The gopas, the vulture, the vaṇik, the hunter, Hanūmān and Vibhīshaṇa, and besides them Vṛtrāsura and other daityas too, reached the presence of Nārāyaṇa and live by his grace.
