Śukladatta is the father of Nityānanda. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa, telling of the devas born on earth in the time of Kṛshṇacaitanya, says that the eighth Vasu, Prabhāsa, was born in Śāntipura in the brāhmaṇa jāti and became famous as Nityānanda, son of Śukladatta.
