Devayājī

Devayājī · deva-yājī, “the one who worships the devas”

Devayājī is a brāhmaṇa who lived on the bank of the river Sarayū. Bṛhaspati tells Devarāja Indra, in the Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa, that he worshipped all the devas and recited the Veda daily. A son was born to him but died as soon as he was born. Grieving, Devayājī worshipped Bhagavān Sūrya, and by Bhagavān Sūrya’s grace the dead child came back to life. His name became Vivasvān.
