Visenavaṃśīya

Visenavaṃśīya · visena-vaṃśīya, “those of the line of Visena”

The Visenavaṃśīya are the kshatriyas born in the family of Visena, a king of the Śukla line. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa names them at the close of Sūta’s account of that line, with the other clans named from its kings: the Vishvaksenavaṃśīya from Vishvaksena, the Gauhila kshatriyas from Guhila and the Rāshṭrapālavaṃśīya from Rāshṭrapāla.
