Śiśunāga

Śiśunāga · śiśu-nāga

The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that the king pleased Balarāma with a yajña, and as its fruit Śiśunāga was born from an aṃśa of Balabhadra. He ruled for a hundred years and heads the Magadha line. His son Kākavarmā ruled ninety years. Sūta tells Śaunaka and the ṛshis of these kings.
