Priyānanda
Priyānanda · priya-ānanda, “the one whose joy is dear”
Priyānanda is a king of the Magadha line. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa, where Sūta tells Śaunaka, gives the line from Śiśunāga, who was born from an aṃśa of Balabhadra. Priyānanda is the son of Samānanda, who ruled 20 years, and he ruled as long as his father. His son Devānanda also ruled as long as his father.
