Ajātaripu

Ajātaripu · a-jāta-ripu, “the one with no enemy born”

Ajātaripu is a king of the Magadha line that began with Śiśunāga. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that he was the son of Vedamiśra and ruled 50 years. His son Darbhaka ruled after him. The print adds the gloss Ajātaśatru beside his name.
