Yakshiṇī Devī (Mantravatsalā)
Yakshiṇī Devī · yakshiṇī, “the yaksha devī”
The Yakshiṇī Devī, called Mantravatsalā, tender to her mantra, is the devī whom the dvija Yakshaśarmā worshipped. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Yakshaśarmā, devoted to yakshiṇī pūjā, was seized by kushṭha for his wrong conduct with the daughter-in-law of his friend. Leaving that kushṭha-stricken dvija, the Yakshiṇī Devī went to Kailāsa, to Śivaloka.
