Vaśavartis

Vaśavarti · vaśa-vartin, “those who remain under control”

The Vaśavartis are a group of devas of a time to come. Sumantu Muni names them to King Śatānīka in the Brahma Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa. After the ten Viśvedevas, who exist now, he says: “Hear of those to come”: Yama, the Tushitas, the Vasus, the Vaśavartis, the Satyas, the Bhūtarajas, and after them the Sādhyas.
