Bhuvaneśvarī

Bhuvaneśvarī · bhuvana-īśvarī, “the Īśvarī of the worlds”

Bhuvaneśvarī is one of the Mahāśaktis. The Madhyama Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa names her in the rule of pratishṭhā: the pratishṭhā should be done duly of the images of Sūrya, Gaṇeśa, Brahmā and other devatās, and of the Mahāśaktis Vārāhī, Tripurādevī, Bhuvaneśvarī, Mahāmāyā, Ambikā, Kāmākshī, Indrākshī, Aparājitā and others.
