Paurusheya

Paurusheya

Paurusheya is one of the mighty rākshasas who go with Bhagavān Sūrya. Sumantu Muni tells King Śatānīka how Brahmā taught Rudra on the Kāñcana Parvata about the ratha of Bhagavān Sūrya, and the groups who go with him, two months with each group. In Jyeshṭha and Āshāḍha the mighty rākshasas with him are Paurusheya and Vadha.
