Pīpā
Pīpā · pīpā, “Pīpā, son of King Sudeva”
Pīpā is a king and bhakta of the south. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that the sixth Vasu Soma, son of Atri, was born by his aṃśa for the purification of Kali, in a vaiśya line, in the house of King Sudeva, as the son named Pīpā. He ruled in that city as the king had ruled. He became a disciple of Rāmānanda and came to Dvārakā, and there from Bhagavān Kṛshṇa he received a golden mudrā of Hari that destroys the preta-tattva, which he gave to the Vaishṇavas.

His origin in Soma
Sūta tells Śaunaka what Devaguru Bṛhaspati told Devendra. Once Bhagavān Atri came with the pativratā Anasūyā to the bank of the Gaṅgā and entered samādhi in dhyāna. There Brahmā, Vishṇu and Maheśa came and said: “Ask a vara.” Atri Muni, absorbed in dhyāna of the Paramātmā, said nothing. The three, understanding his state, went to his wife Anasūyā Devī. The pativratā understood their intent to be otherwise and pronounced a śāpa that they should become her sons.
So the three became boys as sons of Atri: Brahmā as Candramā, Śaṅkara as Durvāsā and Vishṇu as Dattātreya. Later, in order, Candramā became the sixth Vasu named Soma, Durvāsā, aṃśa of Rudra, became the seventh Vasu named Pratyūsha, and Dattātreya, aṃśa of Vishṇu, became the eighth Vasu named Prabhāsa.

His life
Sūta says that the three Vasus, hearing this from Bṛhaspati, descended on earth by their aṃśas for the purification of Kali. The sixth Vasu, Bhagavān Soma, son of Atri, was born in the south, in a vaiśya line, in the house of King Sudeva, as the son named Pīpā.
As the king had ruled in that city, so he too ruled. He became a disciple of Rāmānanda and came to Dvārakā.
From Bhagavān Kṛshṇa he received a golden mudrā of Hari that destroys the preta-tattva, and he gave it to the Vaishṇavas.
