Ḍāmara Tantra
Ḍāmara Tantra
The Ḍāmara Tantra is a tantra filled with mantras. The Pratisarga Parva of the Bhavishya Purāṇa tells that Bhagavān Śiva, by his aṃśa (a part of himself), was born at Kāśī from the Kapālamocana kuṇḍa, not of a womb, and became famous as Bhairava, a yati. Bhairava established the Aghora mārga among his śishyas and then came to Śaṅkarācārya and became his śishya. He established the mantra-filled Ḍāmara Tantra and taught the way of utkīlana (releasing) of kolita (locked) mantras.
