Ugrakarmā

Ugrakarmā was the senāpati (commander) of the Kekaya forces among the Kaurava armies at Kurukshetra. He enters the Karṇa Parva of the Mahābhārata on the seventeenth day of the war, in the fierce fighting of that decisive last stage.

His death

On the seventeenth day, Sātyaki killed Viśoka, the son of the Kekaya king. Sātyaki cut down his horses and felled him from the field. Viśoka was Ugrakarmā’s son.

When Ugrakarmā saw his son slain, he turned on Prasenā, a son of Karṇa. He showered Prasenā with swift and strong arrows.

Karṇa saw the attack on his son and answered with calm fury. With a smile on his face, he loosed three ardhacandra (crescent-headed) arrows. One severed Ugrakarmā’s arms, and another struck his head. Ugrakarmā fell from his chariot to the ground like a great tree cut down by axes, and his life was gone.

The Mahābhārata tells this in the Karṇa Parva, Chapter 82.
