Śālakaṭaṃkaṭā
Śālakaṭaṃkaṭā was a rākshasa. The Mahābhārata names this rākshasa in the Droṇa Parva as the parent of Alambhusha. Alambhusha was a rākshasa warrior who fought on the Kaurava side at Kurukshetra. Some accounts also call Śālakaṭaṃkaṭā Jaṭāsura.
Parent of Alambhusha
The Droṇa Parva gives the family line of Alambhusha and names him as the son of this rākshasa. In that line, Śālakaṭaṃkaṭā is linked with the rākshasa known as Jaṭāsura, who appears in the Āraṇyaka Parva.
Alambhusha was killed by Ghaṭotkaca in the Droṇa Parva. His own story and death are told on his own page.
