Brahmā, Vishṇu and the Śārva Stava

On the cosmic ocean Brahmā and Vishṇu enter each other's bodies, see Bhagavān Śiva walking on the water, and offer him the 160-verse Śārva Stava.

Daksha Yajña (Vāyu Purāṇa)

In the Vāyu Purāṇa, Satī leaves her body by yogāgni at Daksha's yajña, Vīrabhadra and Bhadrakālī destroy it, and Śiva shares out the Jvara.

Liṅgodbhava (Vāyu Purāṇa)

Bhagavān Vishṇu tells the devas how he and Brahmā met the endless pillar of fire and found Bhagavān Śiva standing in it.

Madhu Kaiṭabha Vadha (Vāyu Purāṇa)

The Vāyu Purāṇa tells how Madhu and Kaiṭabha rose from the ear of sleeping Vishṇu, fought him for five thousand years and were killed on his thighs.

Birth of the Maruts (Vāyu Purāṇa)

Diti's tapas, Indra's service and his blow inside her womb, and how her forty-nine sons became the Maruts, the winds of the seven vāyu-skandhas.

Naimishāraṇya Satra (Vāyu Purāṇa)

The Vāyu Purāṇa opens at Naimishāraṇya, where Sūta tells the Purāṇa to the ṛshis during a twelve-year satra led by Śaunaka.

Nīlakaṇṭha Stava (Vāyu Purāṇa)

Why the throat of Bhagavān Śiva is blue: Śiva drinks the kālakūṭa visha at the churning of the ocean, told in three nested accounts in the Vāyu Purāṇa.

Pṛthivī Dohana (Vāyu Purāṇa)

Pṛthu makes Bhūdevī yield, and every class of beings milks the earth-cow in turn for its own food, as the Vāyu Purāṇa tells.

Raji and Indra

King Raji wins back svarga for the devas, becomes Indra for a time, and after his death his sons seize the throne until Bṛhaspati stops them.

Varāha Avatāra (Vāyu Purāṇa)

In the Vāyu Purāṇa, Bhagavān Vishṇu takes the form of Varāha to lift Bhūdevī from the waters at the start of the kalpa, and the nine kinds of creation follow.

Vyāsa Saṃśayāpanodana

The ṛshis ask Sūta whether anything is left untold; he speaks of Para Brahman, Kṛshṇa of Goloka, and Vyāsa's three hundred years of tapas on Meru.
